Now, I know the cricket season has finished and in most cases it was a season to forget on the field but I think you’ll all agree it’s been a much better atmosphere off it. Our social engagements/bar tabs have been significantly higher than previous seasons which is great to see.
With that being said, it’s time for my annual post regarding this years 11 aside Footie match, Xmas lunch and post season presentation. For all those that are new to the club, this has been a well attended social event for many years so would be great to keep that going.
Footie Match – Under 30’s vs Over 30’s
We will continue the tradition and have a club wide footie game, Under’s vs Overs’s (may be adjusted on the day depending on numbers). Kick off will be around 11.30am on the adelaide. If you are keen to play please contact Phil Dunnett.
The lunch will commence in the clubhouse after the annual footie match. Peter Jouning is coordinating this, please confirm your attendance and the attendance of any guests you have to him.
Thanks guys, looking forward to it, see you then!!
As per the last few years, we will be having an end of season social at the completion of next week’s final league games. With the 1’s and 3’s still with a lot to play for, hopefully everyone can enjoy some form of celebration next week.
Nothing major, but like we have done throughout the season, a big drink up in the club along with some ordering of some food. We can then venture out if people are up for that too!
Looking forward to seeing you all back to the club next week!
Happy New Year All!
Now that we are well into 2018 and with the cricket season just over 4 months away it’s time to fetch your dusty Cricket bag from the loft and get yourself to winter nets.
Starting on Tuesday 6th February at 9pm running for 8 straight weeks at Finchley Indoor School.
We also have 3 academy net sessions at 8pm for three weeks starting on the 6th of February. This will be attended by our most promising 15/16/17 yr olds, if you can, please come down pre 9pm to offer a helping hand to some of our young and brightest stars.
Everyone welcome, please make every effort to be there… If you are interested please contact Club Captain Phil Dunnett on 07500 003076 or email@example.com
See you all very soon!
Our annual Christmas Lunch will be taking place on the Sunday 3rd December this year.
As in past years the lunch will be preceded by the traditional Under 30’s v Over 30’s Football game, usually a competitive but light hearted affair with all club members welcome to get involved. If you would like to play please get in touch with Phil Dunnett (Under 30’s) or Ollie Bellwood (Over 30’s).
The Lunch will follow the Football where we will of course be handing out our 2017 season awards. If you are looking to attend please let Peter Jouning (firstname.lastname@example.org) know and please transfer the sum of £22.00 into the club account.
Football to start – 12.00pm
Lunch to start – 1.45pm

As per last year we will be having an end of year social in 2 weeks time on the Saturday 2nd of September after the last league game for all sides. Hopefully like last year we will be able to celebrate again for all 4 sides, the 1s surviving the drop, 2s gaining a second promotion, 3s winning back to back titles and the 4s maintaining their league position.
It should be a good occasion like last year where we will also have the chance to send off and thank our resident overseas player for the year Keaton Critchell. Please ensure you all make the effort to get there and enjoy a drink and some food, as you know boys it will be a long winter.
Look forward to seeing you all there and to keep up the Southgate CC comradery!!
See you all there boys….
The Southgate Cricket Club Annual Christmas Lunch and Awards Ceremony will be held in the pavilion on Sunday 4th December 2016.
All members, including Vice-Presidents, Honorary Members and playing members are welcome. There is a lot to celebrate this year with three promotions and with the 1st XI more than holding their own in the Premier Division.
Tickets will be £20.00 per person and the bar will be open from 12 noon. Wine can be ordered separately on the day as required. Lunch is likely to start at 2.30pm and the day will include:
* A splendid two course lunch plus coffee by Pink Caterers (vegetarian options available)
* 200 Club draw
* Raffle with prizes perfect for Christmas presents
* 2016 season’s awards
As last year there will be a football match between Under 30’s and Over 30’s preceding the lunch starting around 12 noon which no doubt will be played with the usual enthusiasm. Jeremy Dangerfield and Phil Dunnett will be contacting their respective teams. Last year’s game was decided with penalties in the end.
As ever this will be a most enjoyable Club occasion and I look forward to hearing from you.
