Fireworks, Christmas Lunch and the Wadham Charity Run

Fireworks Event – Volunteers still needed.
Many thanks to everyone who has volunteered to date to get involved in the Walker Ground Grand Fireworks Display will be on SATURDAY, 8th NOVEMBER 2014.

The display is a major fund raising event for the Walker Cricket Ground Trust and therefore is hugely important to Southgate CC, over 8,000 people are expected to attend.

It’s not too late to get involved please reply to this email if you can help on the night and haven’t already come forward.

Thanks,
Rob

Christmas Lunch
The Southgate Cricket Club Christmas Lunch will be held in the pavilion on Sunday 07 December 2014.

All members, including Vice-Presidents, Honorary Members and playing members, are welcome and I would stress that this is very much an occasion for wives and girlfriends to attend.

Tickets will be £20.00 per person and the bar will be open from 12 noon. Wine can be ordered separately on the day as required. Lunch is likely to start at 1.30pm.

  • A splendid 4 course lunch, (vegetarian options available)
  • 200 Club draw
  • 2014 season’s awards

As last year there will be a football match between Under 30’s and Over 30’s preceding the lunch starting around 11.30am with the senior team hoping to avenge last year’s defeat.

I think this will be a most enjoyable Club occasion and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sam Wadham Charity Run
Sam Wadham and Karl Jankowicz are taking part in a charity run. The Exmoor Stagger which is a 15 mile run, climbing over 3000 feet over Dunkery Beacon will be especially significant for Sam who take the place of his late father John who was due to take part but sadly passed away earlier this year.

The boys are raising money for S.U.R.E (Somerset unit for radiotherapy equipment). Anyone wishing to sponsor the lads can do so by visiting: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/johnwadhamchallenge?currentPage=4&update=new

Good luck to Sam and Karl from everyone at the club and thanks to all in advance for their support on fundraising on November the 8th.

Walker Ground Fireworks – 8/11/2014

We are pleased to announce that this year the Walker Ground Grand Fireworks Display will be on SATURDAY, 8th NOVEMBER 2014.

The display is a major fund raising event for the Walker Cricket Ground Trust and therefore is hugely important to Southgate CC, over 8,000 people are expected to attend.

In 2014 this was our major fundraising initiative and we hope to raise even more money this year.

We need volunteers to help on the SCC fundraising stall and to assist with stewarding. If you volunteer you will receive free family entry!

Last time around we ran a cake stall selling some cracking home made cakes, we’d like to do that again if someone can step up. We also ran a very popular dice game to win a car which was also very good fun and a great success.

If anyone has a good fundraising idea for the fireworks event now is the time to make it happen.

We also have the opportunity to sell tickets to your members, friends and family and for every ticket sold the club will receive 40% commission. Tickets are available now!

Last year was a lot of fun and the more the merrier for 2015. Please contact cricket@southgatecc.com if you can get involved.

Many thanks,

Rob
