The build up to Southgate Cricket Club NatWest Cricket Force event is gathering momentum. We are one of the 1851 cricket clubs in England and Wales taking part in NatWest Cricket Force and we need as much manpower as possible on the ground on Saturday 9th April.
The programme of events is as follows.
Preparation Day 8th of April
We’ve this week received confirmation that the good people at NatWest bank will be sending some of their members of staff to the ground to help set things up on Friday 8th of April. If you can get along to the Ground to help set things up this would be really valuable, do contact me and confirm if you would be around on this day.
9th of April NatWest Cricket Force
The plan is for the combined members of both cricket clubs plus other ground users to assemble at 9:30am on the Saturday morning. Sue Wimbush will be providing free of charge tea and coffee throughout the day as well as a range of food on sale at competitive prices. We have a limited number of branded tee-shirts for the first 30 members on site.
There are numerous tasks to be completed and and jobs to be done throughout the day, everyone’s in this together for the good of cricket at the Walker Ground so we’ll mix up the working groups and hopefully we’ll get some decent banter on the day. Groups will be rotated so you don’t get stuck on a boring job for too long!
Please bring gloves, any tools you may have and sensible clothing. If you have access to a wheel barrow this would be very useful indeed.
To make things a bit more interesting there will be two additional fun activities to help break up the day:
1 – Closest to the pin golf challenge
2 – Grand National Sweepstake
If anyone can donate a prize for the above that would be most welcome.
Please get involved, buy into this day and help us get the ground looking amazing for the summer ahead. For more information on NatWest Cricket Force visit:
